Luxury holiday home in the heart of Medieval Carlingford village, on the shores of Carlingford Lough with the Cooley Mountains on the doorstep and the Mountains of Mourne in sight. Slieve Foy Lodge is a newly built block of apartments in the centre of the village. This was the show apartment, and has been beautifully decorated and fitted out.
Outside there is a large balcony, plenty of space for alfresco dining and barbecuing. It is south facing, and has the sun all day. The main living room is decorated in shades of pale yellows, gold and terracotta. Off the Living Room is a fully fitted oak kitchen with everything required for home cooking. On this floor too is a bathroom and a big utility room, for storage of walking, golfing, sailing, and horse-riding equipment. Upstairs, the Mournes Bedroom and the Slieve Foy Bedroom are decorated to reflect the changing colours of the mountains. There are two bathrooms on this floor and an airing cupboard with extra linens and towels.
Carlingford is one of the historic towns of Ireland and is located on the shores of a deepwater lough, on the border with Northern Ireland. Dublin and Belfast and both only one hour away. It nestles between the Cooley Mountains and the lough shore, with the Mountains of Mourne across the water. It is an ideal place to explore the Midlands and East of Ireland and close enough to visit Northern Ireland. Day trips to Dublin and Belfast are easily possible. Or you can take the train to either city from Dundalk or Newry.
